Deepstate on Hood

Fully onchain NVDA/USDG book on Robinhood Chain. Real fills, thin capital, a farm wage, and a fee claim. One-person team, no audit. This is the DD and the playbook.

  1. Official account is @deepstatesh . Builder is @josephdelong . Site is deepstate.sh. Chain is Robinhood. This is not Sui DeepBook. That also ticks $DEEP.
  2. The product is a fully onchain order book. First market is tokenized NVDA versus Paxos USDG. Bids lock USDG. Asks lock NVDA. Fills settle in the contract.
  3. Three objects. The book is how you trade NVDA. DEEP is a wage for sitting on the best bid or the best ask. STATE is a claim on vault fees. Mix them and you will size wrong.
  4. Site tape, 28 Aug live: $4.3M 24h, $53M 7d, $138M 30d. Llama's independent 24h is about $6.8M, 30d about $93M, cumulative about $99M. They do not match. Peak day on Joseph's tape was $21M. Volume is rolling off.
  5. DEEP print about $0.0043. CoinGecko shows a $4.0M market cap on 930M circulating. That counts the unclaimed rewarder pile. Dune float is about 57M tokens. Real tradeable size is a few hundred thousand dollars, not four million.
  6. Top ten farmers hold about 70% of claimed DEEP. Two wallets hold about 76% of STATE. First governance window is this week.
  7. No third-party audit. One-person team. Engine is non-upgradeable. Governor can mint more DEEP. Official UI takes 20 bps. Half to the vault, half to Deep State Incorporated.
  8. Profitable today if you can hold the touch and dump DEEP, or if you trade NVDA cheaper than your other venue. Not profitable as a bag-and-forget token. The site APR was 3,435% earlier this week and 1,183% on the live rewards page. That is a farm number. It is not STATE yield you can underwrite.
  9. This note is a field record. It is not a call to buy.

01 What it is

Deepstate is an onchain central limit order book. Orders live in contract storage. Matching lives in the same contract. Custody and settlement too. No offchain matcher. No AMM curve.

The launch market is tokenized Nvidia against USDG. USDG is the Global Dollar from Paxos. NVDA here is a Robinhood stock token, not a DTC share. The book can be honest and the asset can still be a wrapper. Docs say that.

The whitepaper is dated 29 Jun 2026. Author is Joseph DeLong. Email on the paper is spam@deepstate.sh. It is a matching-engine spec, not a token pitch. Packed 32-byte orders. Binary radix tree. 64-bit price-time key. Logarithmic ticks. Gas work bounded by tree depth, not by how many orders rest. The line of work is Warp, presented by Joseph Poon and Christopher Jeffrey at EthCC 2023.

In English: most onchain books die because every requote is a storage write. This tries to make that cheap enough that a maker can compete on price instead of on gas.

The company, Deep State Incorporated, runs the website, picks which pools show there, and takes an interface fee. The company is not the matcher. Other routers can hit the same book.

02 Who these people are

  • @josephdelong joseph.eth

About 85,000 follows. Account from 2010. Bio: CEO of Colossus, previous CTO of Sushi, Ethereum core work at ConsenSys, US Air Force. He wrote the paper. He deployed the stack. He said it is a one-person team, soup to nuts. On 15 Aug, before live: 50/50 chance it explodes, no audit, I love you. On 23 Aug he asked people to delegate STATE to him. Loudest voice. Highest reach.

  • @deepstatesh Deepstate

Official brand. Created 24 Jul 2026. About 1,300 follows. Premium. Posts volume screens, USDG explainers, listing DMs. Smaller than Joseph. Use it for contracts and product. Use Joseph for the actual room.

  • @austingriffith Austin Griffith

Works at the Ethereum Foundation. Went live with Joseph on 21 Aug. Called it a constant-gas onchain book that pays people to find the best NVDA price 24/7. Builder endorsement, not a size call. About 2,100 views on that post.

  • @jaredgrey Jared Grey

Previous Sushi lead. Clapped the $87M first week. Low engagement. Useful as a Sushi-era peer, not as flow.

The Defiant covered the launch intent on 24 Jul. Moni published a 25 Aug research note. That is the best public write-up I found. Their line: paid for the first quote, starting line not finish.

Crowd shape: small. Joseph’s “7 makers, $128M in 11 days” post did 164 likes and 10k views. The official nine-figure post did about 1k views. Compare that with a Pools.fun factory announcement at 613k views. Deepstate is a builder room. It is not a trenches runner. Khamul’s 28 Aug high-conviction Hood list was PONS, AI, INDEX, NET. Deepstate was not on it.

Vlad Tenev talking about live markets for tokenized stocks is the narrative tailwind. The official account quoted that and claimed a seat. Robinhood did not list Deepstate as a partner in that tape.

You post a bid or an ask on NVDA/USDG.

If you are the best bid, you earn DEEP. If you are the best ask, you earn DEEP. Second best earns nothing. Depth behind the touch earns nothing. Volume that does not improve the executable price earns nothing.

You claim DEEP from a prefunded 1 billion allocation. Duration 395 days. Split 50/50 bid vs ask. Front-loaded log curve. Unused rewards stay locked in the rewarder. The rewarder has no minter role. The token itself has no hard cap. STATE governance can grant a minter later.

Deposit DEEP into the vault. DEEP burns. You receive STATE. STATE votes. STATE can redeem USDG, or a listed basket, by burning STATE. Anyone can buy the vault’s listed fee balances for a fixed 10,000 USDG.

Official UI fee: 10 bps to the vault, 10 bps to the company. Direct contract users pay the protocol 10 bps unless a router adds more. STATE is not equity in Deep State Inc. The company keeps its own cut.

Size required to earn the full stream ramps for 30 days. Docs: NVDA side goes from 1 unit toward 5,000 NVDA. USDG side goes toward 1,000,000 USDG. Early farm was cheap inventory. Later farm needs a real book.

04 Four ways to use it

1. Market-make the touch. This is the intended path. You need NVDA and USDG on Robinhood Chain. You need a bot that can win the best bid or best ask, survive a gap, and claim before you cancel. You compete with wallets that already took 70% of claims. If you cannot quote, do not farm.

2. Take NVDA on the book. Use it as a venue. Check the spread, then add 10 bps direct or 20 bps on the site. If that total beats your other path for tokenized NVDA, take it. If the RH app is free and you do not care about self-custody, you do not need this.

3. Hold STATE for fees. Buy or mint STATE, sit on the vault. Current NAV about $0.0026. Vault about $130k. 24h holders revenue about $4.7k. That looks insane as a daily yield because the vault is tiny, not because you found a perpetual 3% a day machine. Two wallets own most of the vote. Redeeming burns STATE and exits the claim.

4. Trade DEEP as a farm token. Buy the thin DEEP/USDG book only if you have an exit and you know 877M is still sitting in the rewarder. This is a dump schedule with a narrative wrapper. Size it like a farm coin. Not like DEX equity.

Wrong uses: ape Sui $DEEP. Treat CoinGecko $4M as size you can exit. Treat the site APR as STATE yield. Leave a resting order off the touch and expect pay.

05 Is it profitable

Depends which object you touch.

The farm, early. Dune: 122.6M DEEP claimed in about 13 days. Wallet 0x2ACB…0706 took 29.7M, 24.2%. At $0.0043 that is about $128k of DEEP for one address. At the 20 Aug print of $0.026 it was paper $770k if they still held. They did not all hold. ATH to now is about −84%. The farm paid. The bag did not, unless you sold.

The farm, now. Emission over revenue is about 6x. They are paying roughly six dollars of DEEP for every dollar of fees. That is how you know a lot of the nine-figure notional is makers harvesting the touch, not long-only NVDA flow. The log curve is still front-loaded, but the size target is ramping. Inventory risk rises. NVDA can gap. Overnight quoting is easy. Cash-session quoting is the job. Site DEEP/STATE APR printed 3,435% a few days ago and 1,183% on the live rewards page. The number moves with the print and with who is on the touch. Treat it as a dashboard, not a coupon.

Taking NVDA. Site fee 20 bps. Direct 10 bps. Docs illustrate a $0.04 spread on ~$202, about 2 bps. If that is live, the fee is the main cost. Edge is 24/7 and self-custody. Cost is the wrapper plus adverse selection versus the cash tape.

STATE. Vault $130k on the Dune snapshot. Llama 24h holders revenue about $6.5k. If volume stayed at $4.3M a day at 10 bps to the vault, that is about $4.3k a day into a $130k pot. That is not a number you underwrite. Volume already fell from $21M to $4.3M on the site. More DEEP burns mint more STATE and dilute NAV unless fees grow. 53% of claimed DEEP is already burned. Thin STATE/USDG book: 8 traders in the Dune snapshot. Last print near NAV.

DEEP as a token. Real float about 57M. At $0.0043 that is about $250k. Token 24h volume about $19k. CoinGecko circulating 930M is the wrong denominator. Governor can mint. Farmers will sell. 877M remains in the rewarder.

Company. Official UI is 10 bps + 10 bps. Llama’s income statement does not split 50/50: about $99k protocol fees vs $14k interface fees. Most of the flow is skipping the company cut. Joseph gets paid when people use the site. Direct routers do not pay him.

Net: the only clean profit so far is skilled quoting plus selling DEEP, and maybe cheap NVDA takes when the spread is tight. Everything else is a bet that farmed volume becomes a real RWA market after the subsidy fades.

06 Bull

The matcher works. The site shows $138M in 30 days on a brand-new Hood book. That is not a landing page. Dune counted 215k orders and 361 NVDA traders. Joseph said seven makers were in the book on 27 Aug.

The incentive is aimed at the print, not at idle TVL. That is a better farm design than most Hood pads.

The builder is real. Sushi CTO, Consensys, a 2010 account, a paper with actual math. The repo has SMT proofs, Halmos, KEVM/Kontrol, invariant tests. Engine has no proxy. That cuts one rug path.

Hood is the right chain for this product. Tokenized stocks are why the chain exists. If more names list, the same engine can take them. Official account is already taking listing DMs.

Fees already printed. Llama about $104k in 30d, $113k cumulative. Vault had about $130k on Dune. That is more cash-flow than most Hood memes will ever see.

24/7 NVDA is a real product if the spread holds through a cash-session gap. Nvidia reported around 26 Aug. Dune still showed fills on 27 Aug. Existence, not quality. But the book did not go dark.

07 Bear

One person. No audit. No timelock. Passed votes execute now. Governor can mint DEEP. Joseph asked for your delegation. He also said he will not do things outside a narrow list. Believe both until a proposal tests it.

Nine-figure 30d volume on a tiny book is a blender. Llama earlier printed about $159k TVL. The fees page now ranks Deepstate near the bottom of DEX TVL. Either way the capital on the book is small. Emission/revenue 6x. Top ten 70%. That is a farm with a matcher underneath. When the log curve flattens, mercenary makers leave unless the spread pays for inventory.

DEEP already dumped 84% from the 20 Aug print. 877M still to emit. CoinGecko will keep lying about circulating. Thin book. You cannot exit a “four million dollar” bag.

STATE is an oligarchy. 0x90BD…D990 about 41%. 0x03D6…0AAE about 36%. You are buying a $130k pot that two wallets can steer. You are not buying the company.

Tokenized NVDA is a wrapper. Issuer, custody, redemption, corporate actions, and whether you can get the equity out sit outside the book. A working matcher does not make it a share.

Company takes 50% of official-UI fees. Direct users can skip that. Most people will not. STATE does not capture the company.

Volume is already rolling off: 21.3M on 19 Aug, 10.3M on 21 Aug, $4.3M 24h on the live site. Llama 24h is $6.8M. Neither is $12M. Use the live header, then check Llama.

Ticker collision with Sui DeepBook will keep eating search and wrong-chain apes.

The whitepaper is honest about mixed-tick settlement still scaling with composition. Pathological books can still be expensive. Formal tests are not a paid audit.

08 Traction, engagement, tape

Joseph’s own USDG notional, first week:

  1. Live. 3.7M. Joseph: experiment, 50/50, no audit. 14k views on the thread.

  2. 9.0M. He said 200% turnover on the NVDA market cap on the book. Tokenized NVDA float is small, so that number is easier than it sounds.

  3. 15.1M. First $10M 24h. Official later posted $12M+.

  4. 17.4M.

  5. 21.3M. Peak day. Telegram rooms: 1k DEEP for Community, 100k STATE for Cabal. Official CA post. Telegram STATE address has a one-character typo. Use Blockscout 0xbfb7…F0E168f273D5.

  6. 13.6M. DEEP ATH $0.026. CoinGecko listing.

  7. 10.3M. Week total 87M. Austin Griffith spaces. Jared Grey clap.

  8. Governor deployed. Joseph asks for STATE delegation.

  9. Official: $115M cumulative in 9 days. Moni note. Dune later: 123M DEEP claimed, 206 farmers.

  10. Joseph: 7 makers, $128M in 11 days. Official: nine figures, under two weeks, DMs for listings.

  11. Live site: $4.3M 24h, $53.2M 7d, $138.0M 30d. Llama: $6.8M 24h, $99M cum. DEEP $0.0043. Watchlist on Gecko: 19 people.

What got engagement: Joseph’s personality posts, the no-audit confession, the volume screens, Austin going live. What did not: the official brand account, most quote-tweet lore, any large outside KOL. The room is still the builder and a few Sushi-era peers.

09 Actionable watchlist

Do these, or do not bother.

  1. Save the CAs. Engine 0x6cf1…7B96. DEEP 0x1DA2…6d27. STATE 0xbfb7…73D5. If a helper pastes a Sui address, you are in the wrong universe.
  2. Open the live book. Read spread, size at the touch, and whether both sides are still earning. If the book is one-sided, the farm is a trap.
  3. Compare 24h volume on the site header versus Llama. Today the site says $4.3M and Llama says $6.8M. Neither is a reason to trust a stale $12M graphic.
  4. If you farm: claim, then sell or burn on purpose. Do not sit in DEEP because “no one will sell it.” Joseph said that. The chart disagreed.
  5. If you want STATE: check NAV versus the last fill. Dune had STATE/USDG near NAV. Premium is optional. Oligarchy is not.
  6. Watch the first Governor proposal. Window around 30 Aug / 2 Sep. Mint, fee, or rewarder config is the tell.
  7. Watch maker count and 24h volume through a US cash session after a sharp NVDA move. That is the real test. Dashboard milestones are not.
  8. Size any DEEP bag against $19k of token volume, not against a $4M CoinGecko number.

10 What we do not know

Live spread and depth at the touch as you read this. I did not rebuild the book from fills for this note.

Which of the top farmers are still quoting, and which already sold.

Post-earnings maker retention in numbers, not in “the book still printed.”

Whether Joseph keeps operating if the farm dies. One-person risk is the whole company risk.

Whether more stock tokens actually list, and whether those books get rewards or only NVDA does.

Whether the undisclosed lender and the planned inventory vault ship. Docs call those a plan.

Whether Dune’s last DEEP fill of $0.006 or CoinGecko’s $0.0043 is the print you can hit. The DEEP book is thin. Those two can both be “true” in the same hour.

GMGN holder tags were not pulled this pass. Dune concentration is the spine.

This is enough to trade around. It is not enough to treat Deepstate as a finished exchange.
